In line with this partnership, Skarper-fitted Sonder bikes will also be available in London’s premium department store Selfridges, alongside Alpkit’s stores and website.

Why it matters
Sonder stands for outdoor authenticity and British craft, Skarper stands for precision innovation with its patented DiskDrive® click-on system. Together they deliver the do-everything bike: keep the pure ride feel you love, click on power for hills, headwinds, and longer days out, then click-off for a light, analogue ride.
Quotes
Neil Sutton, Product Manager, Sonder: “Our riders value simplicity, reliability, and adventure. Skarper’s neat, removable drive keeps a Sonder feeling like a Sonder, while adding the confidence to go further. It is a natural fit for how our community rides.”
Ean Brown, CEO, Skarper: “Riders want freedom and flexibility, not a second heavy bike. With Sonder we bring click-on power to award-winning frames through a partnership celebrating British design and innovation. The result is one bike covers the city and the wild, with no compromises on ride feel. For the Skarper brand, this is an exciting step forward as we develop new partnerships that bring to life a new use case for our product - an integrated bundle that goes far beyond being just an additional product to buy for an existing bike you own.”

About Sonder
Sonder Bikes was launched in 2015 with three game-changing bikes for the UK's mixed terrain and road conditions: all hand-built with sweet-spot geometry and the latest components for an out-the-door, whole-bike riding experience.
Sonder maintains obsessive control over its design and development process using premium materials and the best factories in the world to ensure finely crafted frames and components across its entire range.
Sonder rejects tribalism. The intention was to fill the gap between the full-on road race peloton and Enduro mountain for the multi-disciplinary rider. What no one appreciated was just how big that gap is. Sonder understands they are now the UK's biggest titanium bike brand.
Direct-to-consumer and with ten shop-in-shops throughout the UK, every bike and wheel is built to order in the UK with a reputation for service, custom options and bespoke bike frames.
Sonder is one of two bike brands in Europe to be a certified B-Corp - social justice and environmentally preferable choices are written through every detail. Through the Alpkit Foundation, riders have supported over 2,000 direct-action grassroots projects to get people
About Alpkit
Alpkit is founded on friendship, a love of adventure and a deep frustration at the high cost of top-end gear. Their innovative business is the UK's only direct-to-consumer performance brand for those who run, hike, climb, camp, swim and bike.
With over 200 staff, Alpkit has grown by almost 50% per annum compound over the last decade. It started online in 2004 and has opened ten stores in the past six years.
Carbon neutral, a living wage foundation employer and certified B Corp, Alpkit gives 10% of profit and 1% of all sales to direct action grassroots projects that help people get outside through Alpkit Foundation, its independent charity.
Go Nice Places Do Good Things is more than a tagline; it captures the belief of business as a force for good and that elitism and expense should never be a barrier to time spent outdoors.
Voted brand of the year by TGO Magazine and Country Walking, Ethical Consumer Mag Best Buy, their entire range was awarded Product of the Year by Singletrack magazine.
Alpkit is independent, co-founder led and owned with more than 4,000 customers and staff shareholders from two successful crowdfund raises
