ROUVY Kickstarts Your New Year’s Fitness Goals with Lidl-Trek and Team Visma | Lease-a-Bike Virtual Training Camps

  • Ride Wout van Aert’s anaerobic workout and Ellen van Dijk’s sweet spot session on ROUVY this winter
  • Kickstart your training for the season ahead with 12 structured workouts available across two team training camps

January 2025, Prague – ROUVY, the indoor cycling app that lets you ride real routes around the world, is providing extra motivation to kick start your new year fitness and training plans with a virtual Training Camp in collaboration with team partners Lidl-Trek and Team Visma | Lease-a-Bike.

Riders can now benefit from a range of structured training sessions and team insight on ROUVY throughout January and February. Two unique plans are now available on the app, one Lidl-Trek camp and one Team Visma | Lease-a-Bike camp. Simply choose your team, get training and earn rewards.

“The winter months in the northern hemisphere are a vital stage of physiological planning for the professional peloton, putting in the hard hours of training that pay off when it comes to crunch time during the race season,” explained Lidl-Trek Trainer, Mattias Reck.
“The same applies to riders of all levels with aspirations of their own over the months ahead. The virtual Training Camp provides a great structure for ROUVY users to follow work on key areas of their riding fitness as they put in the groundwork for the year ahead.”

Each team training camp consists of 12 specific workouts, six steady and six hard, each inspired by sessions done by riders on the respective teams. Whether that’s Wout van Aert’s anaerobic workout or Guilio Ciccone’s climbing workout, Ellen van Dijk’s sweet-spot session or Sepp Kuss’s VO2 Max efforts. Each is inspired by training plans from riders across each team while having a ‘lite’ alternative at a lower FTP target than standard workouts.

Alongside VO2 Max, climbing and sweet-spot workouts, other sessions featured across the camps cover endurance, threshold, anaerobic, strength and cadence training.

Team Visma | Lease-a-Bike coach Tim Heemskerk added: ”Our riders have the luxury of training plans to follow each day, but for everyone else the virtual Training Camp provides the perfect motivation and structure to get the year off on the right track.”

The ROUVY virtual Training Camp campaign will run from 1st January until the end of February, with workouts helping you prepare for the season. Those completing the challenge of riding all 6 workouts from either team’s training camp will receive unique jerseys for their Virtual Garage.
