ROUVY Confirms FulGaz Will Continue as a Standalone App Following Community Feedback

  • ROUVY pivots strategy following recent acquisition of FulGaz
  • FulGaz community learnings and better understanding of the app’s use lead to its ongoing maintenance whilst the app remains economically sustainable
  • To make FulGaz economically viable, the message is simple - as long as users keep using it, ROUVY will keep running it

09:00 CET Thursday 27th February, Prague: ROUVY, the indoor cycling app that lets you ride real routes around the world, has announced the recently acquired FulGaz will be continuing as a standalone app following close cooperation from the FulGaz community.

The decision comes after several weeks of canvassing community feedback to better understand how FulGaz members use the app and benefit from its features. ROUVY initially set out to gradually migrate FulGaz members to its app, alongside a host of routes and popular features, but will now focus on the ongoing transfer of IRONMAN routes, whilst ensuring stability over innovation when it comes to FulGaz - no major new features, but smooth performance and reliability for users.

“We originally planned for FulGaz users to transition to ROUVY by late 2025 and sunset the app,” explained Erik Hegely, Managing Director, FulGaz. “But as we dug deeper, analyzing data, running financial projections, and most importantly, listening to our users, one thing became clear - this community didn’t want FulGaz to go away and that FulGaz has its own identity, positioning, and value.
“FulGaz will remain a boutique, community-led platform focused on curated, high-quality, 4K bike-recorded content. Put simply - as long as you keep using it, we’ll keep running it.”

Furthermore, ROUVY has reinstated a core team of former FulGaz employees to develop the app moving forward. This team will ensure that FulGaz users still experience the same ride quality as before, carefully curating content drops replacing frequent ride additions, whilst introducing a user-influenced product roadmap.
