10am AEDT, 15 December 2025, Melbourne: Premium cycling apparel brand MAAP has opened the doors to its latest Life around Bikes (LaB) store, MAAP LaB Sydney, expanding its international retail concept that sits at the intersection of contemporary creative culture and cycling to nine locations globally.
Following the blueprint of opening LaB concept stores in the heart of culturally significant cities around the world, including Melbourne, Amsterdam, Berlin, Singapore, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong and Los Angeles - the new Sydney LaB is situated in the exciting, new Oxford & Foley development in the city’s creative precinct.
Each LaB maintains a consistent visual aesthetic and commitment to premium design. Sydney, curated by the renowned team at Clare Cousins Architects, balances a tactile palette of stainless steel, sandy render, rich terracotta, paired with MAAP’s distinctive pop of colour. The layout offers a functional and articulated space, including a coffee bar and community space shared stories, events and experiences.
MAAP co-founder & co-CEO Oliver Cousins commented on the new opening: “Each LaB has its own energy, and Sydney is no exception. Opening on Darlinghurst places us within one of the city’s most iconic suburbs. It's additionally meaningful to open a LaB here at home, our second in Australia. We’re looking forward to contributing to the neighborhood with a space that celebrates cycling, design and a life around bikes.”

Each LaB goes beyond retail, with the 'Life Around Bikes' concept of crafting spaces that mirror the essence of their local environment, fostering connections and meaningful interaction, whilst allowing MAAP to engage the local community on a deeper level and to celebrate the progression of cycling.
The flagship MAAP LaB opened in Melbourne in 2022, with the concept arriving in Europe two years later with the MAAP LaB Amsterdam. A number of LaB openings in Asia followed, together with Europe’s second LaB in the cultural hotspot of Berlin. Most recently, the new MAAP LaB Los Angeles opened its doors in Venice Beach on the iconic Abbot Kinney Boulevard this September.
The MAAP LaB Sydney soft launched early December, officially opening its doors on Saturday 6th, a date that marked the beginning of a calendar of events, ride-outs and in-store activations.
