It’s for these conditions that Melbourne-born apparel brand, MAAP, has developed its latest Apex collection. Combining advanced performance technologies with refined design, the collection is engineered for committed riders training through winter.
Built for the Downpour
Leading the range is the all-new Apex Downpour Jacket. Engineered for prolonged efforts in wet conditions, the Apex Downpour Jacket delivers high-level waterproof protection while maintaining breathability and comfort. Because for committed riders, bad weather shouldn't decide whether the ride happens.
Its 3-layer outer shell features a 15k waterproof rating, combined with fully taped internal seams for total wet weather protection. Finished with a PFAS-free DWR coating that ensures protection doesn’t compromise the environment.
When effort levels rise, integrated sleeve zips provide fast, customisable ventilation on the move, helping regulate temperature without compromising weather protection. An internal shield skirt extends protection beyond a traditional drop-tail, with a lightweight hem gripper creating a close seal against the jersey underneath to help keep out road spray.
Designed for long winter miles, the Apex Downpour features MAAP’s endurance-focused Core fit for all day comfort and the space to layer up in cold conditions.
Shielded from Head-to-Toe
Built for sub 5°C riding, the redesigned Apex Deep Winter Glove 2.0 serves a single purpose: Uncompromised bar feel when the frost sets in.
By reducing bulk, introducing an anatomical thumb seam and applying an AX Suede non-slip palm, the 2.0 delivers immediate tactile feedback through the handlebars. To fight the freeze, PrimaLoft® Gold insulation with AeroGel technology defends the back of the hand. Paired with an internal Hipora insert, that seals out bitter winds and icy water while allowing heat to escape.
A softer nylon cuff with an adjustable velcro closure eliminates bunching under long-sleeve jersey cuffs, while touchscreen-compatible fingertips keep navigation and device control seamless in the cold.
Expanding the Apex range are new essential winter accessories including the Apex Winter Toe Cover for cold and damp days, delivering targeted warmth without the commitment of a full overshoe. Built with multi-density neoprene (2mm upper, 3mm lower), dedicated zonal toe insulation, and reinforced heel and toe panels, it offers durable, focused protection.
Completing MAAP’s winter riding essentials is The Apex Winter Overshoe, providing full coverage for the coldest, wettest rides. Designed with a zipperless construction through a velcro underfoot lockdown, it eliminates zipper failure while remaining easy to put on and take off. Strategic neoprene paneling with 2mm across the leg cuff, ankle, and upper foot paired with 3mm on the lower base, balances flexibility with total protection, while reflective branding boosts visibility during dark winter efforts.
Completing the drop is the latest update to MAAP’s Apex Aeon collection of endurance-optimised apparel. Designed for all day epics and beyond, the Apex Aeon range prioritises comfort, breathability and buttery soft fabrics, returning in new seasonal colourways: Black/White, Lavender Grey, Espresso and Deep Cobalt.
