8th December, Melbourne - Melbourne-based cycling apparel brand MAAP has today announced its partnership with Italian contemporary watch brand UNIMATIC for the release of a limited edition UNIMATIC x MAAP timepiece.

Since its inception in 2014, MAAP has sought to consistently propel cycling forward through world class design. Creating products that are engineered to excel in all conditions while cultivating a unique aesthetic that speaks to an off the front, progressive generation of riders.

This approach is shared by UNIMATIC, with both brands bringing new life to fields historically dominated by legacy and tradition. MAAP and UNIMATIC challenge these norms through their talent for creating technically advanced, functional products with a unique design aesthetic and dedication to quality.

This shared appreciation and passion make them ideal partners to bridge their respective worlds through a collaborative project, the Modello Quatro ref. UT4-T-M.
A classic military style tool watch crafted from sandblasted Grade II titanium. Limited to just 100 pieces, it breaks new ground for both brands, being MAAP's first timepiece and UNIMATIC's first ever titanium watch with a shockproof quartz movement.

Its svelte 12.00mm profile, 360° anti-shock protection system and 30 ATM waterproofing allow for maximum exposure in all environmental conditions, making the robust timepiece a functional addition to riders collections both on and off the bike.

A fitting tribute to MAAP’s approach of seeking the pinnacle in production and materials, the timepiece is crafted in UNIMATIC’s home of Italy. A location integral to the MAAP story as one of their key manufacturing bases and one that has constantly advanced the culture and sport of cycling.

The Modello Quattro UT4-T-M is available from December 15th (December 14th for MAAP subscribers and LaB customers) for €995/£995/$1145, supplied with both a custom Shadow Gray MAAP TPU quick release strap, classic Olive seatbelt nylon NATO strap and presented in a custom UNIMATIC x MAAP tough case. Further details include a MAAP branded dial and acid etched MAAP case back.

MAAP's Chief Creative Officer, Misha Glisovic:

"UNIMATIC's impressive hit rate of pairing fresh design with function, attention to detail and high performance resonates with the ethos we've built at MAAP. Coming from different fields yet uniting together in this way, we both share a vision of propelling technology and creativity forward with a fresh lens. The result is a perfect synthesis of our two worlds and a partnership we're so proud of."
UNIMATIC'S Founder and CEO, Giovanni Moro:

"We’re happy and grateful to team up with MAAP to introduce a performance oriented watch, fitted with our proprietary anti-shock system, for the first time into a lightweight Titanium Modello Quattro case. The elevated MAAP approach in blending function and style that echoes in the UT4-T-M design is an important support and help for UNIMATIC to raise the bar of our offering on this and on future UNIMATIC releases"
