Former Science in Sport CEO Joins FLOWBIO As Brand Opens Wholesale Channel

13 February 2024, London UK - FLOWBIO, creator of S1, the most accurate wearable hydration sensor for triathletes, cyclists and runners has announced that former Science in Sport (SiS) CEO Stephen Moon has joined the company’s board as Non-Executive Chair.

Moon brings a wealth of experience to the emerging tech brand, having successfully scaled SiS into one of the world’s leading sports nutrition brands. As Non-Exec Chair, his guidance will help shape the long-term development of FLOWBIO.

Backed by the founder of the Oura Ring and counting the Brownlee triathletes and the EF Pro Cycling team among its users, the S1 measures water and electrolyte losses in real-time. Using an advanced algorithm, it then builds a personalised, actionable hydration profile for athletes, presenting recovery, preparation and in-session hydration plans for optimal performance.

Headquartered in London, UK, FLOWBIO is now welcoming new enquiries regarding wholesale opportunities. Recognising the vital importance of localised community touchpoints, the brand is keen to pursue conversations with key retail partners as part of its 2024 rollout strategy.

Stefan van der Fluit, CEO and co-founder of FLOWBIO, ‘Stephen is a true veteran of the sports industry. We’re incredibly happy to have him on board and can’t wait to begin benefitting from his strategic and insightful support.

Both bricks and mortar and online dealers will be instrumental to the rollout of our S1 devices. Reaching these localised or pre-existing online communities via trusted and reputable retailers can be as powerful as a personal recommendation from a friend’.

Stephen Moon, ‘Endurance sport is a deep personal passion of mine. Having spent many years fully immersed in the sports industry with Science in Sport, it’s a huge privilege to extend my involvement in the space, leveraging the insights I gained whilst managing SiS to empower the innovative team at FLOWBIO. I look forward to the journey, guiding FLOWBIO through this initial launch phase towards global expansion’.
