Experience_Alt With The MAAP x QUOC Gran Tourer XC

  • MAAP and QUOC announce the first in a series of limited edition collaborations
  • A fresh interpretation of QUOC's flagship off-road performance shoe, the Gran Tourer XC
  • ‘Fog’ colourway designed to compliment MAAP’s Alt_Road™ apparel range

10th April, Melbourne / London, MAAP, the Melbourne-based premium cycling apparel brand has teamed up with British cycling footwear brand, QUOC, culminating in a series of limited-edition collaborations. Bringing together two forces in alternative cycling with a shared mission to progress the sport of cycling through a considered approach to design and performance.

QUOC’s founder and designer, Quoc Pham, said of the partnership:

“Collaborating with MAAP has been a gratifying and rewarding process. Much more than creating a new colourway—it was about innovating, iterating and delivering something truly special that resonates with our shared audiences. The complementary design and values of both brands are reflected in every detail, and what ultimately comes across is our shared passion for pushing the boundaries of cycling.”

Misha Glisovic, MAAP’s Chief Creative Officer added:

“We always aim to blur the lines between performance and aesthetics, and collaborating with QUOC allows us to take that vision further. Together, we’ve created a collection that blends performance, comfort and style. We’re looking forward to seeing this first installment of our collaboration put to the test."

The first collaboration in what will be an ongoing partnership begins with a fresh take on QUOC’s flagship off-road performance shoe, the Gran Tourer XC. Combining QUOC's technical footwear expertise with MAAP's signature aesthetic and approach to design, the MAAP x QUOC Gran Tourer XC is the perfect choice for those seeking to combine the ultimate in performance with unmatched style.

The new 'Fog' colourway has been specifically designed to compliment MAAP's Alt_Road™ range of off-road performance apparel, with several added finishing touches that set it apart from the original Gran Tourer XC. These include an Alt_Road webbing pull tab on the heel, a lightweight ribbed TPU tongue that moulds to the rider's foot and larger ventilation holes.

The Gran Tourer XC has won plaudits throughout the off-road cycling community for its balance of performance, durability and lasting comfort. Weighing just 327g, the Gran Tourer XC features a stiff carbon composite outsole for quick, responsive power transfer whilst the TPU tread and a replaceable TPU spike ensure excellent grip both on and off the bike. The body of the shoe is constructed from an abrasion-resistant microfibre working in harmony with a rubber toe cap in a durable package that's built to last and won't let you down no matter how rough it gets.

The trails can be an unforgiving place, especially after several hours (or days) in the saddle, so a shoe that can handle anything you throw at it without causing any discomfort is essential. The Gran Tourer XC’s padded heel cushioning and gusseted tongue guarantee all day comfort while QUOC's Dual Dial closure system results in an ultra-precise fit that allows you to adjust on the fly. Finally, ventilation holes mean your feet can breathe no matter how close the heat pushes you to the limits.

The MAAP x QUOC Gran Tourer XC will be available online from MAAP and QUOC, at MAAP LaB's and select MAAP and QUOC retailers for £250 / €295 / $330 / $480 AUD
