Design on the Move: FAEMA and BASSO BIKES between Style, Coffee, and Cycling

During Design Week, at the flagship store on Via Forcella, the two brands will come together to celebrate the intertwining of two closely related cultures: coffee and cycling.

Milan, April 7 – The celebration of Faema’s 80th anniversary continues, as the historic brand of the Cimbali Group: On the occasion of Design Week 2025, Faema, the historic Milanese brand known for its professional coffee equipment, strengthens its partnership with Basso Bikes, a symbol of Italian excellence in the world of bicycles for cycling enthusiasts. Two entities coming together on the roads that cross coffee and cycling, sharing values like iconic Italian design, research, and technological evolution.

Throughout the week, the Faema flagship store will host a special selection of the "Faema 80x80" photographic exhibition, created for the 80th anniversary of the brand. A journey through images that celebrates innovation and the passion for coffee.

The exhibition will take visitors on an engaging visual path, telling the story of technological evolution, iconic design, and Faema's pioneering role in the world of professional espresso machines. A story that also highlights the brand’s deep connection with cycling, which has always been an integral part of its identity.

The exhibition is curated by MUMAC – the Coffee Machine Museum of the Cimbali Group, located in Binasco, where visitors can dive deeper into the photographic narrative through a broader selection of images showcasing Faema’s history and heritage.

In the same space, Basso Bikes will display a selection of its most iconic models, and dream pieces for cycling enthusiasts and racers. The display will narrate the evolution of design and technology, where each bicycle is a testament to the functional and aesthetic needs of cyclists over the years, which has defined the company’s more than 45 years of history. This is a unique opportunity for visitors, fans, and curious individuals to rediscover the timeless design and lines of Basso bicycles, all while enjoying an authentic Italian espresso.

For decades, Faema has been synonymous with excellence in the art of espresso, just as Basso Bikes embodies the perfect balance of performance and style in the world of cycling. Two brands united by a legacy of research, quality, and passion come together to celebrate Italian design's beauty.

The event is set at the Faema Flagship during Milan Design Week: an experience that blends taste and aesthetics in tribute to Made in Italy.

Furthermore, on Sunday, April 13, at 9:00 AM, the "Community Espresso Ride - Faema X Basso" will be organized. All participants will be treated to breakfast accompanied by an expertly crafted espresso.

Faema Art Machine

The FAEMA brand, established in 1945 in Milan, is part of the Cimbali Group, one of the leading manufacturers of professional espresso machines. Iconic design, technological innovation, commitment to sustainability, and passion for coffee culture are the pillars that guide every creation by Faema, which offers a diversified range of solutions for cafes, restaurants, hotels, workplaces, and the home environment. FAEMA made history, introducing lever machines in the 1950s, and in the '60s with the FAEMA E61, the first to use a volumetric pump. Thanks to the talent of one of Italy's most iconic designers, Giorgetto Giugiaro, and Italdesign, FAEMA produced the FAEMA E91, FAEMA Emblema, the FAEMA E71 range, and the FAEMA President. In 2021, the brand launched the exclusive FAEMINA, a minimalist and elegant machine that marked the company's return to the home segment, targeting both consumers and small businesses.

Basso Bikes

Since 1977, Basso has been synonymous with excellence in the creation of road and gravel bicycles. Founded by Alcide Basso in Rettorgole di Caldogno, a small town in the province of Vicenza, the company has always pursued one clear goal: to create bicycles capable of inspiring through performance and, above all, the joy of cycling. For Basso, a perfect ride cannot be measured only in terms of speed, distance, or destination. It is rather a deeper feeling: that of becoming one with the bicycle, of experiencing every moment on the saddle with pure pleasure, anywhere, anytime. Over the years, Basso has maintained its dedication to quality and Italian design, remaining one of the few private bicycle manufacturers in Italy still family-run, blending timeless elegance and superior performance. With more than 45 years of experience, Basso bicycles are designed for the most demanding cyclists, seeking the best in performance and style. Each frame is the result of a perfect balance between artisanal tradition and technological innovation, aimed at providing the best equipment for those who want to live their passion.
