BBB Cycling Launches Innovative Four Chamber Mini Pump - The DoubleShot

One of the smallest manual pumps in the world when stowed, just 120mm long

  • First of its kind two piece design combines small size with large pump volume
  • Four piece air chamber technology delivers 35cc pump volume per stroke
  • Innovative design has been awarded Red Dot and iF design awards

23rd January, The Hague, BBB Cycling, the Dutch bicycle parts, components and accessories brand has today launched their innovative DoubleShot Mini Pump, one of the smallest manual pumps in the world.

The DoubleShot was born out of BBB's desire to create a pump that was as small as possible whilst not compromising on durability and performance when compared to larger, less portable pumps.

The solution is an inventive two piece design that while stowed is just 120mm long, but when assembled uses four piece air chamber technology to offer an impressive 35cc pump volume. Easily stowed in a saddle bag or jersey pocket, the DoubleShot offers the best of both worlds, the compactness of CO2 canister systems with the reliability and sustainability of a larger manual pump.

The long stroke enabled by the two piece design makes for easy, comfortable use. While its push-on head makes it tubeless friendly with no more disasters caused by unscrewed valve cores. Two handles at either end of the pump enable more stable, powerful pumping without the risk of damaging the valve core and when stowed protect the pump from dirt and debris.

DoubleShot has gone through an exhaustive design and testing process at the hands of BBB's in-house R&D team based in the Netherlands. Sebastiaan Bowier, BBB's Design Lead revealed:

"We were inspired by the small size of CO2 canister systems and challenged ourselves to create a manual pump that could rival their size without compromising on performance. The result is something we believe to be the first of its kind and a true development in mini pump technology."

The DoubleShot is able to pump to a maximum pressure of 116 PSI/8 Bar, has a durable aluminium construction and weighs just 83g. It is available to purchase directly from BBB in the EU and from select BBB dealers for €59.95 / UK Pricing TBC.
