BBB Cycling And Team Amani Launch Limited-Edition Animal Print Handlebar Tape

21st August, 2025 - The Hague - BBB Cycling, the Dutch bicycle parts, components and accessories brand, has today announced the launch of a limited-edition Team Amani UltraRibbon handlebar tape. Created in collaboration with Team Amani, the pioneering gravel racing team proudly supported by BBB since 2022.

Founded in Kenya, Team Amani is a professional gravel racing team dedicated to promoting inclusive competitive cycling while creating opportunities for riders based in East Africa. By nurturing young talent, the team aims to bridge European and African cycling cultures - redefining who gets to race on the world stage.

Inspired by the wildlife of the African savannah, the limited-edition Team Amani UltraRibbon handlebar tape retains its performance characteristics while giving a subtle nod to the team’s East African heritage.

The tape features a special antislip surface making it suitable for all conditions while its 2.5mm thick polyurethane construction makes for excellent shock absorption and durability. Each set includes finishing tape and handlebar plugs for a professional level finish.

“Team Amani continues to break barriers in cycling and we wanted to create something together that celebrates their energy, identity and roots.” Said Elcke de Weme of BBB Cycling. “This collaboration goes beyond just a product, it’s a tribute to their culture, spirit and racing style.”
“This bar tape builds on the heritage of East Africa, drawing inspiration from its rich wildlife and vibrant landscapes.” Said Shawn Rath of Team Amani.” “For us, it’s more than just equipment — it’s a symbol of where we come from and what we represent. The patterns reflect the diversity of the team, the beauty of our environment & wildlife, and the untapped potential of cycling in this part of the world. Every ride becomes a connection to home, a reminder that we ride not only for ourselves but for the future of cycling in East Africa.”

The Team Amani UltraRibbon Bar Tape will be available to purchase at select BBB Cycling retailers for €26.95 and BBB’s online store in select territories.
