Basso Palta World Champion Edition

Commemorating Basso's partnership with the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championships

We couldn't miss such an important event, demonstrating our devotion to gravel. This is how the idea to support the 2023 UCI Gravel World Championship was born, scheduled for October 7th and 8th in Italy, specifically in our home region: Veneto.

The Prosecco hills, Lake Garda, the great and small cities of art, and the sprawling countryside that separates the Alps from the Adriatic Sea. Veneto is the place where we were born, the territory that shaped us into who we are. We are proud to support this important global event, to enhance our connection with the region and the sport we love.

For this occasion, we have created a special bike, Palta World Championship, paying homage to the profound bond between Basso and its homeland. Its design combines the cultural heritage of the event's location with the sporting passion of our company.

This celebratory colour scheme draws inspiration from one of Veneto's most evocative cultural materials: marble. It pays tribute to the sculptures of Antonio Canova and Palladian architecture, adding a marbled effect to the glossy black and white livery of the new Palta. This unique bicycle further cements the connection between our region and the sport we love, aiming to contribute to the growth of the discipline.

Beauty, history, and art inspire our creation, proudly emphasising the places where we were born and raised. We wanted to create a bicycle that manifests this connection and its determination to strengthen itself through gravel cycling.

The new Palta was unveiled for the first time at the Italian Bike Festival, the International Bicycle Expo, and will be showcased at all major European expos in the following months.

For the race, mark your calendars for Saturday, October 7th, and Sunday, October 8th, the dates on which the Gravel World Championship will take place on a unique and spectacular course. These two days will go down in history not only for Basso but also for the entire Veneto region. This edition will see not only professional athletes compete but also the best amateur cyclists who qualified during the 16 stages of the UCI World Series.

This special commemorative colourway marking the UCI colours is destined for the new World Champion of the discipline, that will cross the finish line first on Sunday 8th. For the rest of us, a replica version without the World Champion colours can be ordered until Sunday, October 8th, through Basso dealers or on the official website bassobikes.com.
